The Santarém culture is respected throughout the Amazon. Its music, literature and folklore are unique and creative. Its famous handcrafts cross state borders. Santarém has beautiful scenery that is mixed with the splendid and austere silhouettes of its buildings. There are cozy bars along the waterfront that are delightful at sunset and at night. There are also many beaches, lakes and streams and flooded forests on the banks of the Tapajós River. These landmarks are found on both banks of the river and dominate a landscape stretching over many kilometers.

The client will be met at the airport by our bilingual tour guide and be taken to his/her destination in an air-conditioned deluxe vehicle. On the way, he/she will learn about the city and about the tours offered during the stay in Santarém.
Half day city tour:
Known as "the pearl of the Tapajós River", its exotic beauty mixes with the primitive atmosphere of the Amazon. Santarém offers the tourist many attractions: the house of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, the Municipal Market and the old center of the city. Visit the Town Hall Museum, where there is an exhibition of valuable pottery made by the Indians from the Tupaius region. These Indians were old inhabitants of the city.
Tour to "Alter do Chão":
This starts with a boat trip departing from Santarém. The visitor has the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the Tapajós River, to see the exotic beaches on its banks, and to listen to the legends and History about the river. A delicious regional lunch will be served in Alter do Chão. You will be free for the afternoon, to purchase local handcrafts or walk to the village to see the rubber and other native trees. You may also swim in the waters of Lago Verde.
