The last part of the tour has a nice pit stop in São Conrado beach to see the hang gliders landing in the sand.

Gávea Stone - Tijuca Rain Forest

In the last part of the south area, we have a flat top stone called Pedra da Gávea (Topsail Stone). That stone is the largest monolith in Latin America. It’s a bold hiking inside the Tijuca Rain Forest. Leaving Barrinha neighborhood (west zone), we hike through the woods with great chance to see monkeys and squirrels. The track ends up at the summit of the Gávea Stone, with 842m high. Incredible view of the
south and west area beaches, the Lake, Sugar Loaf and Christ Redeemer. Easy rappel in Carrasqueira for descent.

Go climb in one of the postcards of Rio de Janeiro. Classic route in Sugar Loaf rock, the “Italian” route is granite and gnaisse line, with lots of dynos but with some technical parts also. It has an intermediate grade of difficulty (V bra / 5.10b usa / 6a fra) and has a beautiful view of the beaches of Copacabana, Leme and of the Botafogo bay. This tour can be done in other routes with different difficulty grading.

Teresópolis - Dedo de Deus (God‘s Finger) - Serra dos Órgãos National Park

Another classic climbing route, this time in Rio State. In the Teresópolis mountain range, Dedo de Deus is a complete climbing. With a steep trail, you mix hiking and some easy rock climbing in the first part. Then you reach the base of the Teixeira route or the Maria Cebola route, both climbing routes that leads you to the top. Both has a lot of cracks and chimneys. Up there you’re at almost 2,000 m high, with a
spectacular view of Teresópolis and Rio City.
